Sarcomatoid Mesothelioma

|

In histological terms, there are three different types of cancer mesothelioma disease : sarcomatoid, epithelial and biphasic. Malignant sarcomatoid mesothelioma is the least common of the three mesothelioma types. Malignant sarcomatoid mesothelioma cells when viewed under a microscope,  appear as cells elongated spindle-shaped that are irregularly shaped and another overlap one another.  Sarcoma cells and sarcomatoid mesothelioma cells can have a similar appearance under an electron microscope, and the staining of the tumor cells can provide similar results. Desmoplastic mesothelioma is
considered a variant of sarcomatoid mesothelioma the often come togethers in the mesothelioma disease.

Cells of another cancer type called sarcomatoid carcinoma pulmonary are very similar in appearance (and other characteristics) to malignant sarcomatoid mesothelioma. Types of Mesothelioma disease the other there are:
  1. Epithelial Mesothelioma is a rare and deadly form of cancer affects the membrane lining the chest cavity, abdominal, heart and lungs cavity.
  2. Biphasic Mesothelioma cancer differs from epithelioid and sarcomatoid mesothelioma cancer  that it  Biphasic Mesothelioma does not have a unique structure; rather, biphasic mesothelioma cancer is a combination of epithelioid and sarcomatoid mesothelioma cancer subtypes.
